Next week from 6th to 10th May, our Word Eater Petra requests us to bring many, many, many letters M and m.: cuts, stickers, figurines, adorned cardboards, texts written by them, sentences made by those letters, spellings, etc.
Remember when you write, the children must be careful to follow correctly the directions of the m. Show them the movements you need to reproduce the letter. For example you can go over it with your finger following the route of the letters. Or on a model that you write on a piece of paper:
- Observamos y analizamos el modelo.
- La repasamos con el dedo.
- Hacemos el recorrido en la alfombra con nuestro propio cuerpo para adquirir mejor noción espacial.
- Lo sentimos en nuestra espalda.
- Lo escribimos en la espalda de nuestros compañeros.
- La repasamos en distintas superficies
Y os pongo un vídeo de otra manera diferente que complementa a los demás. Escribirla en el espacio. Lo podéis imitar en casa:
Of the capital letter M, there are some that start from up, downwards and others from down, upwards. If they do it correctly it does not really matter which way.
Do you remember the steps I showed you which we use to learn and to memorize the graphical symbol of the letters?
- Let us observe and analyze the model.
- Let us review with our finger.
- Let us move our own body on the carpet to feel better space notion.
- We feel it in our back.
- Let us write on the back of our companions.
- Let us do it again on different surfaces
And here is a video in a different way which complete the others. Tracing the letter on the space. You can imitate it at home:
The children have to remember with which hand they paint, so we also work laterality. The lefties already know perfectly that they have to use the opposite hand than the others. And with their fingers, they "paint" the letters. Some, instead of painting in the air, they feel more comfortable to do it on the table. Others are distracted and don´t make it very properly, but it is normal, do not worry. It's a matter of practicing carefully.
One thing that amuses me is that they love to make giant letters. As big as possible, as long as it fits on the board. They always ask me to do bigger and bigger. And they laugh a lot with it.
The video shows the letter p, but we usually do for all letters and numbers. I also like to make the "rainbow" with a letter or a large number, it is often reviewed with different colors over the same spelling. In the end the rainbow is painted with beautiful colours.
Oh, I repeat again like in other posts, as in most of the videos, please do not concentrate on me, the teacher sometimes makes foolish things in front of the class and did not realize how bizarre it is on the video. The important thing is the students ;-)
And now we start with the worksheets.
The latter is a little bit more difficult. Whoever is able to do, please do, who is not able to do, do the previous group before. By the way, the letter "d" has slipped in the card reader accidently, but do not worry. Just say it´s the letter d and how it is read, and they´ll understand perfectly. The important thing is to be able to read and understand what they read.
